Bad Habit
She likes her meat extremely rare. Her parents did not know this when she was adopted. Nor did the household cat. She is 12 inches tall. She was hand sculpted from a mixture of polymer clay. Her clothing is hand sewn using vintage fabrics. The... remnants (as it were) were torn from an antique stole. The chair is bronze and was actually the inspiration for the piece. It was gifted to me and I thought - what should I perch on this funny-shaped bronze chair?
Darva
Darva loves honey so much and she just knows that no matter how good honey must be - whatever makes honey must be even better! Darva is a one-of-a-kind handmade doll, made from polymer clay. I made a blond and a brunette for this theme. The meaning of the name Darva is Honey Bee. The origin is Slavic. The bees are real, freeze-dried bees.
Hooks
I created 2 dolls in this series, as well as accompanying jewelry that were large metal fish hooks in the shape of hearts that will hook anyone you get physically close to. I put them in the category of "Bad Habits" since these are totems to letting go and a cautionary tale to a lifetime of wearing your heart on your sleeve - which can be a very bad habit.
They are 18.5 inches tall sculptures that are mounted to a wood base. They are hand sculpted using a mix of polymer clays that, when cured, have a very lifelike, pristine quality. Their clothing is white velveteen and 100% cotton to represent their innocence. They are topped with real human hair. They have metal hooks in their back and their hands are pulling them out with fishing line as they look forward with eyes filled with disillusionment and acceptance of the process.
