Cervidae Sapiens
This piece was created from items that were gifted to me. The deer jaw was found in our Vermont woods and determines the name of the piece. The pig parts came from a studio mate who worked in a kitchen that used every part of a pig's head.
Turkey and pig bones make up the upper part of the head and a deer jaw is what makes up the mouth. This one of a kind creature is an example of imaginary taxidermy or unnatural historical specimens.
This specimen is mounted in a shadow box that is 11" wide by 9.25" tall by 2.75" deep.
